Why is my main router's wireless password changed after using WPS to setup the RE300/RE750?

Home Page | Cudy    Support页面    FAQ    Why is my main router's wireless password changed after using WPS to setup the RE300/RE750?

Causation:

In WPS process, the wireless frame which sends from main router has a flag named “Wi-Fi Protected Setup State”. This flag can estimate whether the main router’s current state is ‘configured’ or ‘unconfigured’.

According to the WPS protocol, if the wireless setting of the main router still keeps as default setting, then the main router’s current state will be determined as ‘unconfigured’ and a random password will replace the default password to secure the wireless network of the main router.

That’s to say, this problem won’t happen, if you already customized your wireless password of the main router.

How to avoid this problem?

Method 1

Do not use default wireless password of the main router, customize a new one instead, which requires to login to the configuration page of the router.

Method 2

Do not use WPS method, and login to the configuration page of the range extender to setup the range extender.

How to find my new wireless password of the router if the original one is changed?

You may login to the configuration page of your router to find the password. If you don’t know how to do that, please contact the support center of your router’s company.
